As we reported today, the Department of Defense (DoD) issued a Final Rule implementing the expansion of the voluntary cybersecurity information sharing pilot program, launched July 2011, between DoD and eligible Defense Industrial Base (DIB) companies.  Department of Defense (DoD)-Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Voluntary Cyber Security Information Assurance (CS/IA) Activities, 78 Fed. Reg. 62430, 62430 (Oct. 22, 2013), available at http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2013-10-22/pdf/2013-24256.pdf.  The expanded program allows eligible DIB companies to receive classified and unclassified cyber threat information from the Government and to share information about network intrusions that could compromise DoD programs and missions.  The Final Rule is substantially the same as the Interim Rule that was published in May 2012 and will go into effect on November 21, 2013.
